I’m standing on this mountain here;
What was it you wanted to say?
You called me past the ocean.
You called me from all I ever knew.
Why did you call me to this place?
What was it you wanted to say?
Did you see that ocean there
By the place that you call home?
Did you see the birds and trees
and every little stone?
Did you see the things I made for you?
I made them because I love you.
I’m still standing on this mountain here.
What was it you wanted to say?
I saw the birds and trees and stones,
I left my home and all I knew.
I came here because of you.
What was it you wanted to say?
Did you see the woods you walked through?
Did you see the flowers by the roadside?
Did you see the butterflies
Flying up above?
Did you see the things I made for you?
I made them because I love you.
I don’t understand why you called me here.
What was it you wanted to say?
Please tell me I didn’t leave my home
And everything I knew
Just to not get an answer from you.
What was it you wanted to say?
Do you see the mountains here?
And can you see the creatures roam?
Can you see the sky in all its glory?
Can you see any of these things,
These things I created for you?
These things I created because I love you.
All I wanted to say was that I love you.
So, I took you on a journey,
Past every hill and stone
I took you on a journey
In hopes that you would know
That I made all these things because I love you.
Now I stand on this mountain here.
I see what you wanted to say.
I see the love you have for me, reflected to my face
Why couldn’t I see it before?
Why couldn’t I see this love you had for me?
At least, now I know.
